What we work for
Through our missions, we work to create better conditions for young people in vulnerable positions, to give art a central place in society, and to ensure more biodiversity in our nature.

At the Bikuben Foundation, we work to create positive change in society. We never work alone but together with others on missions that provide a clear and common direction for cooperation.
The problems we are working on demand that we launch a number of initiatives that support each other and our common mission. We learn from our initiatives even as we work on them and adjust them along the way.
In all our missions, we train our ability to imagine positive change. In this way, we bring the future into the way we develop the present.
Our missions
Art, nature, and young people in vulnerable positions are fixed themes in the missions we work on.
Best practices in management of natural resources
We are in the middle of a biodiversity crisis. In Svanninge Bjerge, we have worked for 20 years to turn the cause of events. In our living laboratory, we test concrete methods to increase biodiversity – and share our experiences, so more people may act.
A central place for art in society

We work to ensure more encounters with art in people’s lives. We are convinced that art can help promote commitment to grow our society and democracy. Our mission is under development and we adjust while we work.
No young people without education or jobs
43,000 young people today are without an education or a job. We want to break this trend for young people who can find neither a school nor a workplace. We do this by creating a path for all young people.
A positive transition from out-of-home care to adulthood

We are working to ensure good transitions to adulthood for young people who are or have been in out-of-home care. An adulthood with a job, education, a place to live, and communities. We do this together with municipalities, NGOs and interest organisations – and the young people themselves.
30 percent protected nature
Biodiversity is fundamental for nature’s ecosystems. Therefore, we are exploring how we may contribute toward securing protection of 30 percent of the nature in the Danish landscape. This will ensure a viable and diverse nature - now and in the future.
Stop homelessness among young people

No young people in Denmark should be homeless. Therefore, we insist on stopping homelessness among young people. This requires more than a roof over one’s head.
Missions are team efforts
Mission-driven work provides an opportunity to gather many people together to create positive change in our society and helps provide us a clear guiding star for our common purpose.
