Stop homelessness among young people
No young people in Denmark should be homeless. Therefore, we insist on stopping homelessness among young people. This requires more than a roof over one’s head.

Consequences for young people and for society
In Denmark, many young people are living without a home. Many of these young people have a harder time getting an education or a job. Some are struggling with medical diagnoses. Some experience criminality up close.
Therefore, we have worked for many years to secure better connections between residence and social welfare efforts. There was a successful homelessness reform in 2023. Here, efforts against homelessness were reoriented to provide holistic support for people experiencing homelessness, called Housing First.
There is great potential in stopping homelessness among young people – both for the individual and our society.

A long haul
We are working to stop homelessness among young people. It requires a long-term effort to achieve this goal. We have worked on this mission for 10+ years, inter alia, in close cooperation with the Hjem til Alle (Home for All) alliance. And we continue to do so.
Now our full focus is on making sure these grand ambitions for homelessness reform become a concrete reality for young people without housing.
Projects, knowledge, and resources
Along with many others, we are exploring how long-term, national alliances may help to create new structures in practice and politically. Together, we are working to find new paths for general youth communities along with new work procedures and collaborations, so more young people find homes.
