Briefly on D:K:U

With Dialog:Koncept:Udvikling, we support efforts in which artists and artistic institutions within the visual arts and the stage arts engage with society. This includes, for example, collaborations with municipalities, the state, or other organisations.

We focus on efforts that help show how art may play a more active role in other areas – for example, when it comes to work with nature or social welfare – and thereby create new valuable encounters with art. We believe that, in this way, we may bolster people’s engagement with our society and democracy.

This is what you do

1. DIALOGUE

You may book a meeting with us if you are in a collaboration with others on such an effort. At least one of the partners must be a professional artist or artistic institution in the field of theatre or visual arts with a CVR no. and an initial connection to Denmark. The other partners may, for example, be a municipality, the state, or an organisation from another sector.

Our assessment is based on the following parameters:

You have a development idea with a potential for creating new opportunities for people’s encounters with stage arts and visual arts.

You see strategic opportunities for how the idea will be able to create change in your and/or your partners’ institution and would like to share it with others.

You are able to obligate yourselves to share the learning and knowledge you achieve through your development project.

You have not previously come to us with the same idea.

Does this fit you? Then, you may book a meeting for a dialogue.

Please bring your collaborative partners along to the meeting. Here, you may present your idea and get an assessment at once of whether it matches with our goals. The meeting lasts a total of 20 minutes.

At the meeting, we are interested in hearing more about:

  • Whether you have explored whether others are doing the same thing and how your idea relates to their efforts. Do you see additional opportunities for collaboration across the professional field?
  • Who are your confirmed collaborative partners in the project, and what can they contribute?
  • How might your development project gain a foothold and develop after the conclusion of an effort supported by us?
  • How will you share learning and knowledge?

2. CONCEPT

If we see potential for supporting your idea at the dialogue meeting, we shall ask you to submit a concept description of no more than two pages with more information. The deadline for this is two months.

In the concept description, please provide a brief presentation of the development project and a budget. Upload it through our digital platform with the option of linking to visual material, film, and sound. The concept must also contain a short text profiling your institutions or work.

We shall review the material within two months and provide feedback on whether we can support your project.

3. DEVELOPMENT

We may grant up to DKK 500,000 for a project and offer funding to approx. 20 development projects a year. Sometimes, we also offer advice, for example, with respect to strategy, organisation, public affairs, and communication. We receive many qualified concept descriptions and support as many as possible.

It is important for us to learn from each other along the way. Therefore, we hope that you will participate in conversations with us and others who have projects similar to yours.
