Academic Guest House for Danish students in New York
Scholars from all disciplines with affiliations to educational institutions in the greater New York area are eligible for placement. Most of those who are accepted live in two-bedroom apartments with a shared kitchen and bath. A few studios for single occupancy are also available. To qualify for housing, applicants must be affiliated with a Danish institution of higher education, show proof of admission to an institution of higher education institution in the New York City area, and have obtained the necessary US visa status to qualify for studies at the institution of admission.
Typical lengths of stay are one or, at maximum, two semesters. As a resident of the Academic Guest House, students must participate in a series of monthly lectures and excursions with focus on the history, politics, society, and contemporary culture of the United States, with an emphasis on New York City. Residents are also required to participate in maintaining the building.
